San Jose Stage Company Hosts Will Durst's BIG FAT YEAR END KISS OFF COMEDY SHOW XX Tonight

San Jose Stage Company Hosts Will Durst's BIG FAT YEAR END KISS OFF COMEDY SHOW XX Tonight

San Jose Stage Company adds an exclamation point to its 30th season by hosting Will Durst's BIG FAT YEAR END KISS OFF COMEDY SHOW XX tonight, New Year's Eve.

Punctuate this election year with an evening of hilarity, satirizing the major news stories of 2012. Providing that the Mayans were wrong, New Year's Eve will laugh your way into 2013. Or make a nice holiday gift for the funniest person on your list.

"Our shows are all based on current events, and some years there's slim pickin's," claims Will Durst, "but this year...it's an embarrassment of riches."

Will Durst returns to The Stage, and along with his fellow troupe members: wife Debi Durst, friends Mari Magaloni, Johnny Steele, Arthur Gaus and Michael Bossier, the show will make you "laugh against your will." The night of comedy and politics returns to San Jose for the third consecutive year, with a collection of skits, stand-up comedy, quizzes and many other surprises. Hitting seven cities in seven days, San Jose's only performances are on New Year's Eve.

"We love the San Jose Stage Company, and cannot think of a better way to usher in 2013 than with laughs, party favors and champagne...but not in that order," added Durst.

Tickets are priced at $30 in advance and $40 at the door for the 7 pm performance, and $50 in advance and $60 at the door for the 10 pm show. The second performance includes a champagne toast and ballon drop to ring in the New Year.

Tickets are available at www.thestage.org or by calling the box office at 408-283-7142. Visa and MasterCard are accepted, and discounts are available for groups, students and seniors. The theatre is handicapped accessible.

The Stage is located at 490 South First Street at William Street in downtown San Jose's South First (SoFA) area.

Now in its 30th season, San Jose Stage Company is recognized as The Bay Area's Premiere Off-Broadway Theatre. The Stage is known for its devotion to new and cutting-edge work and for its commitment to showcasing high-quality local talent.

Ranked 3rd largest theatre and 9th largest performance arts organization in Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal (May 2012), San Jose Stage Company is a vital force in the community. The Stage has earned a reputation for artistic excellence by providing high-quality, edgy theatrical experiences that engage, educate and provoke audiences. The Stage has produced 143 productions, 44 new works and 11 world premieres.

The Stage also offers five core educational and outreach programs, including National High School Top Honors Awards, and has housed over 200 independent performance groups in its theatre. The Stage is located at 490 South First Street, San Jose, CA 95113. For more information visit www.thestage.org and contact the Box Office at 408-283-7142.
