Pleasance London has announced the line up for its 2012 Edinburgh Preview Season. This year is bigger and better than ever featuring some of the freshest young talent alongside some of the most recognised names in theatre and comedy. Tickets are available from just £5.
Pleasance London is once again delivering the cutting edge in comedy with brand new shows from established comedians Mark Watson and Richard Herring, alongside Russell Kane and Pete Firman off the back of recent television successes.
Sketch newcomers The Pin will be making their hotly tipped Fringe debut this August, while Joe Lycett and Ed Eales-White both reveal their first solo shows.
The double act behind the total sell-out, 2011 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award winning The Wrestling – Max and Ivan try out their new show. Chris Ramsey is also back with a new show after his nomination for a 2011 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award.
Globally acclaimed The Horne Section, joins the impressive bill as Alex Horne and his troupe of the UK’s finest musicians create a marvellous concoction of jazz-infused comedy.
Pleasance London will also stage an exciting array of new theatre including the highly-anticipated comedy satire Coalition, written by Robert Khan and Tom Salinsky, starring a myriad of talent including: Thom Tuck (Fosters Edinburgh Best Newcomer Award Nominee 2011), Phil Jupitus (Never Mind the Buzzcocks), Jo Caulfield (Have I Got News For You) and Simon Evans (Michael Macintyre’s Comedy Roadshow). Nichola McAuliffe’s new play Maurice’s Jubilee boasts an equally impressive line-up staring SheiLA Reid (Benidorm) and Olivier Award winner Julian Glover and is directed by multiple Fringe First winner Hannah Eidinow.
Following the hugely successful Skittles at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, talented writer and spoken word poet Richard Marsh is back with new play Dirty Great Love Story, an achingly funny on-off love story of good intentions and bad timing. Another company to return to the Pleasance is Paulden Productions, creators of the award-winning sell-out show Fresher! The Musical. They return with a deliciously dark musical comedy revue stripping bare the West End's greatest hits into scandalous parodies, Wild West End.
