Funniest Comic in New England Contest Set for Cabaret Theatre at Mohegan Sun Tonight

Over two hundred comics auditioned from five states across New England hoping to be selected to compete for $10,000.00 in cash and prizes in the region's BIGGEST Stand-up Comedy Competition..........ever. The talent pool has been selected and narrowed to our top forty comics in the Newcomers Division and twenty comics have been selected to compete for laughs in the Pro Division.
Regionally, there are comics from Portland, Maine and Burlington, Vermont from Braintree, Massachusetts to Newport, Rhode Island and the comedy competition also includes comics from almost every city or town in Connecticut. Some of the Contestants are College Students in their teens and others are professionals in their fifties and all ages in between. Comics that include: teachers, doctors, painters, landscapers and more. The list of Contestants almost reads like a Dr. Suess book. Black Comics, White Comics, Indian comics and Hispanic Comics all make up this comedy cornucopia and mix of talent. Only two women will compete in the Newcomers Division along with Muslim comics, Jewish and gentile comics, straight comics and gay comics will join in the comedy fight for laughs. Alright, you won't read that in a Dr. Suess book.
All these stand-ups will perform at the Cabaret Theatre at Mohegan Sun tonight, February 8th for two shows at 8:00 and at 10:15 in the (Newcomers Division $19.50 tickets). Our industry judges will then narrow the field down to a Qualifying Round 2 the next Day on Feb 9th to 15 comics per show at 8:00 & 10:15.
