Comedian Legend Jackie Mason Appears at Kimmel Center Tonight, 11/10

Comedian Legend Jackie Mason Appears at Kimmel Center Tonight, 11/10

Widely regarded as one of the greatest stand-up comedians of our time, Jackie Mason provides one exclusive Philadelphia area performance at the Merriam Theater tonight, November 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are currently on sale at kimmelcenter.org, 215-893-1999, or at the Kimmel Center Box Office located on Broad and Spruce streets, Philadelphia, Pa. (open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., later on performance evenings). Tickets are available for $35 - $85, plus applicable service charges.

Mason is currently more popular than ever, using his precise combination of pungent political satire, insightful observations on the foibles of modern life and impeccable timing to gain more fans with each show. Celebrated for his stand-up comedy and made legendary as a regular guest on the Ed Sullivan Show, throughout the years Mason has starred in a variety of successful televisions shows, films and in his own one-man show.

Recently, Mason started a new phase of his career and not only acts in, but also produces feature films with his wife and manager Jyll; including One Angry Man in 2010. Mason has also proven his versatility by hosting talk television and radio shows focused on news and current events. Long passionate about politics, and known for his tough and outspoken views, Mason’s shows like Crossing the Line on PBS and The Mason-Felder Report on the BBC radio network have garnered him national praise and assembled some of the most influential and informative guests from across the globe. Additionally, Mason publishes columns and books on political topics, often focused on issues relevant to his Jewish heritage.

Raised on the Lower East Side of New York City, surrounded by rabbis, Mason grew to be one of the hottest comics of the 1960’s, but it was during his regular appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show that he reached the apex of American entertainment culture. By the eighties Mason was experiencing major success with his one-man show The World According to Me, which ran for an unprecedented two and a half years on Broadway and earned him a Tony Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, an Ace Award, an Emmy and a Grammy nomination. Mason continues to sell-out venues across the globe with his hilarious and insightful stand-up show and is considered to be one of the greatest comedic entertainers of all time.
