Atlanta's Improv Standup Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre Hosts Grand Opening with Louie Anderson, 10/4

The Improv Standup Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre is opening in Atlanta with a bang. The Improv perhaps best known for its A&E network show An Evening at the Improv will open in the prestigious Buckhead nightlife destination, Andrews Entertainment District, October 4th, 2012. Headlining the Atlanta Improv opening is comic legend Louie Anderson who made his television debut on the "The Tonight Show" in 1984 with Johnny Carson.

Leno, Letterman, "Comic Relief" and Showtime and HBO specials followed, making Louie a household name and opening doors for him as an actor. He has guest-starred in sitcoms like "Grace Under Fire" and dramas like "Touched by an Angel" and "Chicago Hope," and he has had memorable featured roles in film comedies like "Coming to America," opposite of Eddie Murphy, and the classic "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." In 1995 Louie put his creative energies to work on the Saturday morning animated series "Life with Louie." The long-running series based on Louie's own childhood earned him three Humanitas Prizes, a Genesis Award, and two Emmy Awards. He is also host of the hilarious "Comedy Showcase," the late-night series that follows "Saturday Night Live."

Louie Anderson's performance at the Atlanta Improv will continue the tradition of The Improv Comedy Clubs as the premier stages for live comedy. Over the decades, the talent who has graced an Improv stage represents the Who's Who of American Comedy, including Richard Pryor, Billy Crystal, Lily Tomlin, FrEddie Prinz, Andy Kaufman, Eddie Murphy, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Jay Leno, Chris Rock, Dane Cook, Ellen Degeneres, Jamie Foxx, Adam Sandler, Jeff Dunham, and Dave Chappelle.
